Katavi lies over 500km from Arusha and is best accessed by shared charter flights every Monday and Thursday, connecting from Arusha (and the Serengeti at a supplement), with stops in Tabora and onward to Mahale. Flights return to Arusha by evening, and private charters can also be arranged across the region.

Children aged 12 and over are welcome at Chada Katavi, although walking safaris are reserved for those aged 16 and above due to the challenging nature of the terrain and the proximity to big game.
