Serengeti Under Canvas
Classic under-canvas luxury in this incredible safari camp which follows The Wildebeest Migration through Tanzania. A mobile camp, it captures the action right from calving season through to the magnificent river crossings.
Serengeti Under Canvas follows the movements of the Great Migration, positioning its camps as close as possible to the vast herds of wildebeest while also offering excellent sightings of resident wildlife. Moving up to five times a year, the camps provide a privately guided Migration experience, led by professionally trained guides among the best in the industry. Daily game viewing activities can be tailored to individual interests, ensuring a flexible and deeply personal safari.
Set within pristine and remote landscapes, the experience places guests in the heart of the Serengeti’s most dramatic wildlife spectacles. Seasonal highlights include the Grumeti and Mara River crossings in the western and northern Serengeti, as well as the wildebeest calving season at Ndutu in the south. Exceptional resident game is found year round, with frequent sightings of lion and leopard, excellent cheetah viewing in the south, large elephant herds throughout the ecosystem, rhino in the north, and a unique topi migration near the Grumeti.
The camps offer some of the most luxurious mobile tents in the Serengeti, combining old world glamour with the romance of classic safari. Guests unwind in sophisticated tented suites set in private campsites close to the Migration, enjoying the theatre of the African bush in exceptional comfort. Each stay includes a private butler, hot bucket showers, crystal glassware, and elegant dining beneath the stars, followed by evenings around the campfire and nights filled with the distant roar of lions.
Serengeti Under Canvas features nine elegant safari tents per camp, including one family tent. Two intimate private camps offer luxurious ensuite tents with double beds, bathrooms with separate WCs, indoor sitting areas, personal bars, and his and hers open air bucket showers.
