Open April-January: Set in the breathtaking, untouched wilds of the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia, Lolebezi is simply one of the most spectacular permanent luxury safari lodges which could wish for.   

Set on five hectares of protected wilderness, the lodge has been designed to make the most of the one kilometre of private river frontage. Waking up with the majestic Zambezi River flowing just in front of your room is a truly exceptional experience!    

The Lower Zambezi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has some of the best wildlife sightings in the world. Famous for its leopard population and elephant herds, this incredible destination is best experienced on foot with one of African Bush Camps’ experienced guides. The contemporary lodge effortlessly incorporates the luxury expected in a world-class safari Experience with a modest elegance and simplicity that can only be found in the African bush. The name Lolebezi is derived from a combination of the owners’ son’s name “Lole” and “Zambezi”, underlining the importance that is placed on family and the unique experiences waiting to be shared.

Tucked beneath a grove of winterthorn trees along a peaceful channel of the Zambezi River, Old Mondoro is one of Zambia’s most iconic bush camps – small, soulful, and immersed in nature. With just five chalets and one family house, this intimate, solar-powered camp offers a raw and authentic safari for those who crave real connection with the wild.

Here, the wildlife comes to you. Elephants browse through camp, hippos wallow just metres away, and leopards prowl nearby. Thorntree River Lodge is set in Zambia's Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, just 20 minutes from the famous Victoria Falls. The lodge has drawn inspiration from local customs and cultures to create a modern and contemporary design with tented roof structures to maintain the feel of Authentic Africa. 

There are 8 luxury suties and 2 luxury family suites that are situated along the edge of the mighty Zambezi River. Each unit has its own indoor and outdoor bathroom as well as a luxurious private plunge pool, deck and direct river view. 

The main lodge consists of a lounge with an open dining area, where the fine dining experience of African cuisine will come to life. The communal deck overlooks the stunning riverside an is home to a sunken boma area and an infinity pool. Wooden decking floats on the river's edge and moves with the water levels to create the illusion of a sailing boat. 

Take advantage of a combination of wildlife, culture, and adrenalin activities on offer in the area. From our lodge, we offer daily excursions to the Zambian side (and Zimbabwean side - in the dry season) of Victoria Fallsk, private river cruises, cultural visits, fishing expeditions, canoeing, rhino tracking and game drives, all included in your stay. 

Additionally we can book external activities, such as guided rainforest walks, bungee jumping, and helicopter flips over "The smoke that thunders" on your behalf.
