Safaris in Zimbabwe
A land less touched
This beautiful country has often been considered to be off limits due to its difficult political past, however in recent years it has opened up and boasts some incredible safari escapes. A country now at peace, you will be warmly welcomed by the locals who embrace visitors with open arms.
National Parks & Private Reserves
Hwange
Hwange is the largest natural reserve in Zimbabwe. Its grasslands and mopane woods are home to one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, especially elephant and buffalo. With its all year round viewing and monitored access to water, it is a vast landscape with so much to see. It is also home to the infamous lion Cecil, whose progeny will continue to thrive for years to come.
Mana Pools
Mana Pools National Park is in the far north of Zimbabwe, situated on the south bank and islands of the mighty Zambezi River forming the border with Zambia. It is home to 100 iconic African mammals, more than 450 bird species and it has the highest concentration of hippos and crocodiles in the country. There are large herds of elephants and predators including the endangered African wild dogs, but no giraffe.
Lake Kariba and Matusadona
Located on the Zambezi River, Lake Kariba is the largest artificial lake and reservoir in the world. It is a wildlife haven with abundant crocodile and hippos and over 40 species of fish. Sport fishing and boating are popular attractions along with neighbouring Matusadona National Park where the stunning mountains and vast plains are home to elephants, lion, buffalo and black rhino.
Victoria Falls Zimbabwe
Considered (by some) the better side to view the Falls, the town of Victoria Falls is the best location to enjoy everything this incredible park has to offer. Whether you're looking for a relaxing stay at the end of your safari or are an adrenalin junkie wanting to experience everything the mighty Zambezi has to offer, there is something for everyone.
