Olakira Migration Camp

Witness the action of the wildebeest migration from Olakira Migration Camp which follows the famous river crossings through the Northern Serengeti, Tanzania

Follow the rhythm of the wild at Olakira Migration Camp, a premier mobile camp that moves with the Great Wildebeest Migration to bring you front and center for one of nature’s most awe-inspiring events. Twice a year, this upgraded tented camp relocates to key vantage points—Ndutu in the southern Serengeti (December to March) and Bolongonja in the northern Serengeti (June to October)—offering unrivalled access to calving season and dramatic river crossings.

In the north, watch as massive herds of wildebeest and zebra navigate the Mara River, braving crocodile-infested waters and stalking predators. In the south, experience the birthing season as thousands of calves are born daily—and predators lurk nearby, making for thrilling days on safari.

The camp features nine to ten beautifully designed tents, depending on the location, with family units available. One of Olakira’s signature features is its mesh-covered stargazing tents, allowing you to fall asleep under Africa’s vast night sky without leaving the comfort of your bed. Each tent includes a private deck, solar-heated hot-water shower, and en suite bathroom, ensuring a luxurious yet immersive safari experience.

Olakira Migration Camp also offers a private photographic safari vehicle—custom-built to provide photographers with the ultimate angles and comfort while capturing the drama of the migration and the incredible diversity of wildlife that surrounds it.

Whether you're a seasoned safari-goer or a first-time adventurer, Olakira promises drama, beauty, and unforgettable moments—all from a front-row seat to one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth.
