Angama Amboseli

Set within Kimana Sanctuary, Kenya’s first community-owned conservancy, Angama Amboseli is an intimate lodge surrounded by wetlands, open grasslands and Fever Trees, with the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro providing a spectacular backdrop. The sanctuary is home to some of Africa’s last remaining Super Tuskers, making elephant encounters a particular highlight.

With just ten beautifully designed suites, Angama Amboseli offers a sense of privacy and immersion. Each suite has uninterrupted views of Kilimanjaro through floor-to-ceiling screened doors, while contemporary canvas, stone and concrete are softened by natural textures and earthy tones. Even the distinctive textured exteriors incorporate elephant dung, reflecting the lodge’s close connection to the landscape and its wildlife.

At the heart of the lodge, an elevated elephant viewing tower overlooks the surrounding marsh and provides a wonderful spot to watch elephants gathering below, enjoy a picnic or simply take in panoramic views towards the Chyulu Hills and Kilimanjaro.

Kimana Sanctuary is an important conservation success story, with 844 Maasai landowners coming together to protect a vital wildlife corridor between Amboseli National Park and the greater Tsavo ecosystem. The year-round water supply creates a rich variety of habitats, supporting elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, eland, reedbuck and warthog, alongside predators and more than 400 bird species.

With exclusive traversing rights and unrestricted game viewing, guests can enjoy a range of experiences including game drives, night drives and the unique Pyjama Safari at dawn.
