Moons Camp

Moon's Camp is a small, owner managed tented safari camp nestled on the southern slopes of the Lolldaiga Hills, an area of rolling hills, dramatic valleys, abundant wildlife, and spectacular views. Overlooking the snow capped peaks of Mount Kenya, the camp is set deep in the bush beside a busy watering hole, offering guests an authentic and intimate safari experience in the heart of Kenya.

Every day presents a new adventure. Guests can explore the conservancy on foot across rolling hills, travel through open plains in safari vehicles, spend a night camping beneath the stars in peaceful woodland, or climb ancient rock formations in search of lions, leopards, elephants, and many other remarkable species. Those wishing to experience the rich local culture can spend time with Maasai elders, learning about leadership, courage, and tradition while gaining a deeper understanding of the people who have lived alongside this landscape for generations.

At the end of each day, guests return to camp in one of the safari converted Land Rovers, where warm hospitality and exceptional food await. At the heart of the camp is a spacious and welcoming mess tent where every meal is freshly prepared by the camp's experienced team using traditional charcoal stoves. Special dietary requirements, allergies, and children's meals are all catered for with care.

The camp features just five beautifully furnished guest tents, each overlooking the surrounding wilderness and the watering hole, where elephants, zebras, impalas, and other wildlife are regular visitors. Every tent is thoughtfully designed with a large comfortable bed, generous storage space, fresh drinking water, and solar power for lighting and charging personal devices. Hot water bottles are also provided on cooler evenings to ensure guests remain comfortable throughout the night.

Each tent includes a private ensuite bathroom complete with a hot shower, western style flushing toilet, and wash basin, allowing guests to enjoy modern comforts while remaining immersed in the natural surroundings.

Moon's Camp has been carefully designed to have as little impact on the environment as possible. The camp has been built without the use of concrete, operates entirely on solar power, and uses an environmentally responsible grey water system. The dedicated team is proudly recruited from the neighbouring communities surrounding the conservancy, ensuring that tourism directly supports local livelihoods.

As evening falls, guests gather around the campfire to share stories from the day's adventures beneath a sky filled with stars. Beautiful Kenyan made furniture, attentive service, and a peaceful atmosphere create a camp where guests feel relaxed, comfortable, and completely at home.

Wireless internet is available in the mess tent throughout each stay for those who wish to remain connected while enjoying the wilderness.
