Set within the Naboisho Conservancy, one of the Masai Mara’s most celebrated private wildlife areas, Basecamp Wilderness revives the romance of classic Kenyan safari with a modern approach to comfort and sustainability. Recently refurbished, the camp offers an intimate escape where the pace is unhurried and the wilderness takes centre stage.
With just seven tents positioned along the Saddle Valley rim, guests enjoy exceptional views and a real sense of privacy. Each tent combines simple safari charm with comfort, featuring a plush double bed, separate bathroom with bio-flush loo, bucket shower and private seating area overlooking the savannah.
The camp’s relaxed atmosphere is enhanced by al fresco dining beneath the trees or beneath the stars, while the dining tent and lantern-lit evenings evoke the golden age of safari without sacrificing good food and attentive service.
Days are spent exploring Naboisho on foot or by vehicle with experienced Maasai guides. As a private conservancy, Naboisho offers fewer vehicles and more exclusive wildlife encounters, while ensuring tourism contributes directly to community-led conservation.
