Rekero Camp

Rekero Camp

Rekero Camp holds a prime riverside position in the heart of The Masai Mara, offering superb access to incredible Kenyan game viewing all year-round.

Nestled among the trees and overlooking the Talek River, Rekero Camp offers an unforgettable safari experience in the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve. With a privileged position at a key crossing point of the Great Migration, the camp provides exceptional views of this natural spectacle, especially from the expansive deck. Here, you can witness the migration drama as wildebeest bravely cross the river, while crocodiles lie in wait. Between July and October, the Mara and Talek Rivers become a stage for the most remarkable wildlife event on earth, with nearly 1.5 million wildebeest making their perilous journey across the waters.

The camp offers nine spacious safari tents, each designed to blend seamlessly with the landscape and provide ultimate comfort. Every tent features en-suite bathrooms with hot-water showers, and private verandas where you can enjoy your morning coffee or simply watch wildlife grazing across the plains. At dusk, unwind with a sundowner overlooking the river, while hippos grunt below.

For 38 years, Rekero has maintained a reputation for exceptional hospitality, attracting a high number of repeat guests—a testament to the unparalleled experience it provides. The camp’s recent rebuild has enhanced its already exceptional lounge, dining areas, and deck, offering even better views and a more spacious setting to relax and take in the sights and sounds of the Mara.

Beyond the migration, Rekero Camp offers year-round wildlife viewing, with a stunning concentration of resident animals including lions, leopards, hyenas, and servals. Whether on a morning game drive across the plains or watching from the comfort of your tent, every moment at Rekero is a chance to experience the wild beauty of the Masai Mara.

Rekero’s location was carefully chosen for its proximity to the Talek River crossing, making it an ideal base to witness both the Great Migration and the reserve’s abundant wildlife year-round. It’s a safari destination that blends incredible wildlife encounters, spectacular river views, and exceptional service in a truly special setting.
