Built over seven years, Rocky Hollow is an elegant and intimate retreat, created as a private home where guests are welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. Individually designed bedrooms, spacious sitting rooms and wide verandas overlook a timeless landscape of rocky kopjes, acacia savannah, seasonal rivers and open glades. Wildlife is ever present, with elephants, giraffe, zebra, gerenuk, warthog, baboons and a rich variety of antelope regularly seen around the property.
Founded by Charlie and Mouse McConnell after a lifetime of pioneering luxury riding safaris across East Africa, Rocky Hollow reflects their deep knowledge of the region and passion for life on horseback. From the lodge, guests can explore more than 20,000 acres of remarkable wilderness, riding through private ranches and traditional Maasai lands where ancient game trails weave through an unspoilt landscape. Carefully selected horses, matched to each rider, provide a rewarding experience for confident equestrians, while fully supported mobile tented safaris offer the opportunity to journey even deeper into this spectacular corner of Kenya.
