Set between riverine forest and the dry Timbavati River on the edge of Kruger National Park, Ngala Tented Camp offers an intimate safari experience where the wilderness takes centre stage. With just nine elevated tented suites, the camp feels peaceful and secluded, with a strong emphasis on privacy, nature and a slower pace.
The unfenced camp is woven naturally into the landscape of the Ngala Private Game Reserve, creating a genuine sense of immersion in the bush. Each tent combines understated luxury with elements inspired by local Shangaan design, with spacious interiors, private decks and outdoor bathtubs overlooking the surrounding wilderness.
Days are shaped around the rhythms of the bush, with game drives and time to simply enjoy the setting. The reserve is home to an abundance of wildlife, and elephants may occasionally wander close to camp, while the surrounding riverine forest provides excellent opportunities for birdlife and smaller creatures.
Back at camp, open-air spaces invite you to slow down and reconnect with nature. Mornings begin with birdsong, while evenings are illuminated by lanterns and the glow of the campfire, creating a wonderfully atmospheric setting beneath the stars.
