Ngala Safari Lodge

Set within a private concession in the world-renowned Kruger National Park, Ngala Safari Lodge captures the timeless romance of an African safari. Surrounded by mopane and tamboti woodland, the lodge offers exclusive access to 14,700 hectares of pristine wilderness, with exceptional opportunities to see the Big Five alongside rarer species such as African wild dog.

With exclusive traversing rights and expert ranger and tracker teams, game drives can explore the reserve away from the crowds. Twice-daily drives and guided bush walks offer different perspectives on the wilderness, while sensitive off-roading allows guests to enjoy close encounters with wildlife without compromising the natural environment.

Twenty thatched cottages are thoughtfully spaced throughout the woodland, including three interleading Family Cottages and a private Family Villa. Each combines classic safari character with modern comfort, featuring spacious en-suite bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and private verandas. The Family Villa accommodates up to six guests and has its own pool and dedicated safari vehicle, making it particularly well suited to families and small groups.

Between game drives, guests can relax beside the rim-flow pool, enjoy a massage in the open-air sala or simply watch the abundant birdlife around the lodge. Dining is equally atmospheric, from candlelit meals in the courtyard to traditional African feasts served beneath the stars in the boma.

For a more adventurous experience, guests can take part in conservation activities such as seasonal rhino notching, subject to availability. The Ngala Treehouse Experience offers an unforgettable night under the stars, sleeping high above the wilderness in a luxurious open-air setting.
