Londolozi Varty Camp

For nearly a century, the campfire at Londolozi Varty Camp has burned continuously, making this historic camp the symbolic heart of Londolozi. As the original camp, Varty is where the spirit of Londolozi began, with generations of family history woven into its relationship with the land and wilderness.

Set beneath an ancient riverine canopy overlooking the Sand River, Varty Camp combines classic safari character with a wonderfully peaceful setting. Brick pathways, dolerite stone walls, cascading waterfalls and lush vegetation create a sense of timelessness, while uninterrupted river views bring the surrounding wilderness right to the doorstep.

The camp has 16 comfortable chalets, several of which can be interconnected, making it particularly well suited to families. Children over six are warmly welcomed, and each chalet has its own private swimming pool, outdoor shower and dining sala set on a raised timber deck beneath the trees.

There is plenty to enjoy beyond the traditional safari experience. Guests can make use of the bush gym, capture their adventures in the photographic studio, browse the Living Boutique or unwind at the Healing House. At the heart of the camp is the original Sparta Camp, a nostalgic reminder of Londolozi’s earliest days and the generations who helped shape its story.
