Kirkmans Kamp

Set within the world-renowned Sabi Sand Nature Reserve, &Beyond Kirkmans Kamp combines old-world safari charm with exceptional wildlife viewing. Sharing an unfenced boundary with Kruger National Park, the reserve is particularly famous for its leopards, with sightings among the finest in Africa.

The lodge enjoys exclusive access to 10,500 hectares of pristine wilderness, home to the Big Five and a remarkable diversity of wildlife. Expert ranger and tracker teams lead twice-daily game drives, using sensitive off-road techniques and limiting vehicles at sightings to create intimate encounters with the animals and minimise disturbance.

Inspired by an original 1920s homestead, the lodge has a wonderfully timeless character. Twelve cottages are set along the hillside, each with spectacular views over the Sand River. Antique-style furnishings, elegant interiors and private verandas create a comfortable and atmospheric retreat, while a spacious family cottage made up of two interconnecting suites is ideal for families.

Between game drives, guests can relax in the library or sitting room, enjoy the rim-flow pool overlooking the river or simply take tea on the lawns. Dining is a highlight, with Pan-African cuisine served in a variety of beautiful settings, from the boma and shaded verandas to intimate candlelit dinners in the bush.

Beyond traditional game drives, guests can enjoy guided bush walks, birding, photography safaris and private safaris. Families are well catered for through the WILDchild programme, which introduces younger guests to the bush through fun and educational activities.
