Lekkerwater Lodge

Set on a private concession within De Hoop Nature Reserve, around three hours from Cape Town, Lekkerwater Lodge is a beautifully secluded coastal retreat overlooking six kilometres of pristine white-sand beach. The coastline is at its most spectacular between July and November, when southern right whales gather in the sheltered waters to calve. There is plenty to explore beyond the coastline, with De Hoop supporting wildlife including bontebok, Cape mountain zebra, eland and caracal. Hiking is central to the experience, with coastal trails, dunes and intertidal areas best explored on foot. Some routes are steep and beach access involves steps, so guests should be reasonably fit and comfortable walking.
