Ride Botswana Mobile Safaris

Ride Botswana Mobile Safaris

Exploring remote areas through mobile riding safaris from the waterways of The Okavango Delta to the deserts of Makgadikgadi and the Kalahari for an adventure like no other

Incredible mobile safari adventures offering riding and walking experiences across Botswana - to The Okavango Delta, Kalahari Desert and along the Thamalakane River.

Owners David and Robyn Foot, who both share a love for exploring the wildest places of Africa on horseback, offer a selection of riding and walking safaris both out of mobile tented camps, the beautiful Cha Cha Metwsi camp and a combination of Camp Kalahari, Jacks, or San Camps

Botswana is a land where the desrt meets an oasis, where wildlife still roams free over vast distances and the Milky Way glitters in all its glory above. With their passion for wildlife, pristine wilderness and ancient people, their horseback safaris offer something truly out of this world.

There is no set itinerary, with the location of camps dependent on water levels, wildlife movements and the length of safari (the longer the safari, the more likely the camp is to move). Riding activities tend to be in the mornings and late afternoon, allowing occasionally for guests (and horses) to rest providing the perfect opportunity for a tranquil ride in a mokoro or exciting game drive.

Mobile rides may include:

  1. Okavango Delta Ride

  2. Camp based short-stays

  3. Delta & Desert Ride

  4. Kalahari Dry / Green Season

  5. Thamalakane hourly/daily rides

For longer rides, guests must be of an intermediate/experienced level of riding. Days are long in the saddle (4-7 hours) and riders need to feel confident about keeping up with the group, capable of riding at all paces and keeping their horse under control at all times.

  • Mobile Explorer Safaris - anything from 3 to 10 days in length

  • Camp based safaris

  • Maximum of 8 guests per ride

  • Minimum age 12

  • Guests must be riding fit

  • Safaris include full board accommodation and local alcoholid/non-alcolohic drinks
