Lagoon Camp

Low-key safari soul by the Kwando River in the Chobe/Linyanti/Savuti/Selinda area of Botswana

If Botswana’s safari scene had a secret handshake, Lagoon Camp would be in on it. Quietly iconic and rich with wildlife, this low key luxury camp sits along the shady banks of the Kwando River, where elephants wander by and hippos grunt approval from below your deck.

Lagoon Camp is safari with soul, combining exceptional predator viewing with the tranquillity of a beautiful riverside setting. The area is renowned for its concentrations of wildlife and big cat encounters, with large herds of elephant and buffalo attracting lions and African wild dogs.

Established in the late 1990s, Lagoon Camp was one of the original camps in this pristine wilderness. The landscape ranges from woodland and seasonal floodplains to secluded oxbow lakes, providing excellent opportunities for game drives, walking safaris and relaxed double decker boat cruises.

The eight spacious tented suites and one family suite offer comfort while keeping you connected to the bush, with private decks, indoor bathtubs and outdoor showers. The elevated lounge, library, bar and dining area provide a wonderful place to relax, while the viewing deck, swimming pool and riverside firepit add to the camp’s relaxed atmosphere.

Lagoon Camp is solar powered with backup generators and offers complimentary laundry. It is also family friendly, making it a great choice for travellers looking for outstanding wildlife, comfortable accommodation and an authentic Botswana safari experience.
