Nxai Pan Camp

Nxai Pan Camp

Nxai Pan Camp is set in a Timeless Wilderness on the Edge of a Lost Superlake in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Botswana

Nxai Pan Camp is the only permanent camp in Nxai Pan National Park, offering front-row access to the Makgadikgadi zebra migration, ancient baobabs, and the deep cultural heritage of the San Bushmen. From December to March, rains transform the arid landscape into lush grasslands, drawing thousands of zebra in Africa’s second-largest migration, followed closely by predators.

This stark and beautiful wilderness is also home to steady elephant herds, springbok, and gemsbok. Game viewing happens year-round at the camp’s waterhole, which can be seen from your private deck or the main lodge. Activities include guided walks with San Bushmen to learn traditional survival skills and excursions to Baines’ Baobabs - timeless trees painted in 1862 and unchanged since David Livingstone’s day.

The camp’s open-plan design and bleached decor reflect the surrounding salt pans. Eight suites and one family suite offer private decks, indoor and outdoor showers, spacious lounges, and clear views of the plains. A raised swimming pool deck, firepit, and solar-powered comfort complete the experience. Activities are limited to national park hours and follow strict conservation practices - no off-road driving, just uninterrupted connection to this ancient land.
