Mokolwane Camp

Mokolwane Camp

Set in the Xudum Concession made famous by BBC Big Cats 24/7, Mokolwane Camp is right on the front line of huge Big Cat Country and boasts one of the highest densities of leopards in Africa.

Hidden among a grove of Mokolwane palms in the Xudum Concession, Mokolwane offers an authentic Okavango safari experience within 180,000 hectares of pristine wilderness. Renowned for its exceptional wildlife, this remarkable area is considered some of the finest leopard country in Africa, with one of the highest recorded leopard densities on the continent.

As the only camp in the area, Mokolwane offers a rare sense of exclusivity, peace, and immersion in nature. The camp features seven charming tented suites raised among fig, jackalberry, ilala palm, and wild mangosteen trees, where elephants regularly wander through to feed on the abundant fruits and nuts. Each tent offers comfortable interiors, an ensuite bathroom, and beautiful views over the Matsebi river system.

Wildlife viewing is outstanding throughout the year. Thousands of elephants move through the concession, joined by large herds of buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and a variety of antelope. This abundance of prey supports healthy populations of leopard, lion, wild dog, cheetah, and hyena, making every game drive an exciting adventure.

The concession is also home to smaller species such as bat eared foxes, jackals, honey badgers, meerkats, and mongoose, while nocturnal sightings may include porcupine, aardwolf, aardvark, civet, and genet.

The area's extraordinary wildlife attracted acclaimed filmmaker Brad Bestelink, who filmed much of the Netflix documentary *Living With Leopards* here, helping showcase one of the Okavango's most remarkable wilderness areas.

Combining exceptional wildlife, exclusive safari experiences, and complete tranquillity, Mokolwane offers a truly unforgettable Okavango adventure.
