Anderssons Lodge

Anderssons Lodge

Anderssons at Ongava Camp savours the future of ecotourism in sophisticated comfort, offering exceptional game-spotting opportunities, even from the comfort of your own room.

With striking contemporary design and subtle Afro Mediterranean influences, Anderssons at Ongava presents a bold vision of ecotourism in one of Namibia's most remarkable wilderness areas.

Named after Charles Andersson, one of the earliest European explorers to document the wonders of Etosha Pan, the lodge combines refined luxury with exceptional wildlife viewing, offering memorable encounters from the lodge itself and even from the comfort of each suite.

The central bar and lounge overlook a busy waterhole where wildlife gathers throughout the day. Designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, this welcoming space offers uninterrupted views and a relaxed setting in which to watch the rhythms of the bush unfold.

Anderssons at Ongava is also home to the Ongava Research Centre, an internationally respected facility dedicated to advancing the understanding of African wildlife and ecology. Scientists and researchers from around the world work from this independently funded centre, carrying out important studies that contribute to the conservation of the region's fauna, flora, and natural ecosystems.

Through ongoing research, the centre continues to build a valuable body of knowledge that supports the long term balance between conservation and the needs of surrounding communities.

The adjoining visitor centre offers an engaging journey through the history of Ongava Game Reserve, the diversity of its wildlife, and the future of sustainable ecotourism.

As the first light filters through the Mopane woodland, Anderssons at Ongava welcomes each new day with exceptional safari experiences. Guests can set out on an early morning game drive with an experienced guide or enjoy a quieter perspective from the underground photographic hide, where eye level wildlife viewing offers remarkable opportunities for observation and photography.

The spacious suites are designed to maximise the connection with the surrounding wilderness. Expansive glass frontage, elegant curved roof beams, and warm blond wood finishes create a light and contemporary retreat, while private decks provide the perfect place to relax as wildlife moves quietly through the landscape beyond.
