Sable Valley

Set on an exceptional 15,000-acre private concession just outside Hwange National Park, Sable Valley offers an intimate and relaxed safari experience with a distinctly boho-chic character. The camp’s 11 traditional thatched rondavels combine African-inspired décor with carefully collected vintage pieces, creating a warm, personal atmosphere that feels both stylish and wonderfully unpretentious. 

The main area overlooks the vast Dete Vlei, where elephants, buffalo, rare sable antelope and an impressive variety of wildlife regularly gather. Herds of more than 500 buffalo can create spectacular scenes of “dust and drama”, while the concession is home to lions, cheetahs, leopards, African wild dogs, hyenas and jackals, alongside more than 300 bird species. 

Sable Valley’s innovative underground hide offers an exceptional perspective on the wildlife, with close-up viewing possible both day and night. Equipped with comfortable seating, a fireplace, minibar, Wi-Fi and charging points, it is an atmospheric place to spend time watching elephants, buffalo and other animals at remarkably close range. A treehouse platform provides another unique vantage point over the wilderness.
