Review

Why this Camp..?

(According to Google Reviews)

Hideaways Bumbusi Wilderness Camp in Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park earns exceptional reviews. Guests praise its intimate, 7-chalet setup, outstanding local staff, and prime wildlife viewing. The historical Bumbusi National Monument and walking safaris are major highlights.

Key Highlights

  • Wildlife & Tracking: Highly experienced guides deliver surreal game drives and walking safaris. Guests routinely spot lions, elephants, leopards, and diverse birdlife right near the camp.

  • Intimate Atmosphere: With only 7 chalets, it offers a secluded and personal "glamping" experience. The rustic design honors the area's rich stone-masonry history.

  • Hospitality & Food: Visitors consistently commend the friendly camp staff, locally owned operations, and excellent, hearty meals prepared by the camp chefs.

  • Historical Value: Unlike standard safari camps, Bumbusi is nestled near unique archeological sites and historical monuments.

Things to Consider

  • Getting There: It is located deep within the park. Access is typically a 4-hour scenic drive from Victoria Falls or a 2-hour drive from the Robin's Camp Airstrip via air charter.

  • Weather: The remote bush location can get quite cold at night, so packing layers is strongly advised.
