Daka Plains Camp

Set within a 4,000-hectare private concession in the far northwestern reaches of Hwange National Park, Daka Plains is an intimate, luxury safari retreat and one of the park's most remote camps. Surrounded by low rolling hills and vast open plains where the landscape transitions into the Kalahari savanna, the camp offers an exceptional wilderness experience in one of Southern Africa's most pristine and untouched regions.

Known as "Big Sky Country," this spectacular setting is defined by endless horizons, sweeping panoramic views, and unforgettable sunsets. Guests can enjoy a perfect balance of exhilarating game drives and expertly guided walking safaris, immersing themselves in the remarkable wildlife and natural beauty of this extraordinary area.

The camp is located near the Deka Seeps, the source of the Deka River, which flows east towards the Zambezi. This permanent year-round water source attracts an impressive variety of wildlife, including lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, roan antelope, reedbuck, sable, waterbuck, zebra, giraffe, and many other iconic African species.

Daka Plains redefines the classic safari experience through its seamless blend of comfort, attentive service, and authentic wilderness immersion. The camp features eight beautifully appointed guest units, thoughtfully constructed from locally sourced stone, canvas, and traditional thatch to complement the surrounding landscape. The understated design reflects the raw beauty of Hwange while providing every modern comfort.

Each accommodation offers comfortable beds with premium-quality linen, hot and cold running water, a flush toilet, and uninterrupted views across the surrounding wilderness. Guests can also enjoy an indoor shower, as well as an outdoor bath and shower overlooking the vlei in front of camp, creating a truly memorable connection with nature.

The camp accommodates a maximum of 14 guests, ensuring an exclusive and personalised safari experience. Room 3 is the family unit and includes a pull-out sleeper couch, with an additional rollaway bed available on request, making it ideal for families travelling together.
